Admissions Procedure and Criteria
The Department of Statistics offers BS, M.Sc., M.Phil. and Ph.D. courses. The M.Sc. course is a two years degree program based on taught courses. A student reading for M.Phil./Ph.D. has to complete the requisite number of credit hours for course work as laid down in Higher Education Commission regulations for the said degrees. A thesis based an original research work will also be submitted and defended. The duration of these degrees depends on the performance of the student and on the nature of research problem. However, the minimum time limit for M.Phil. is two years and three years for Ph.D.
MSc PROGRAM
For M.Sc. the University in Jan-Feb announces M.Sc. programs admission every year. Candidates are selected on quota / merit based on performance & the past examinations required for admission.
Pre-requisite for admission in M.Sc. (1st Semester) Statistics is:
B.A/B.Sc. Statistics with Mathematics-A Course.
BS 4 -YEARS PROGRAM
Candidates are selected on quota / merit based on performance & the past examinations required for admission.
Pre-requisite for admission in BS (1st Semester) Statistics is:
F.A/F.Sc/ICS/I.Com with Mathematics or Statistics
