Faculty of Social Sciences,

 "In The Name of Allah, the Most Gracious and Merciful"
The faculty of Social Sciences is playing dynamic role to uplift the academics of the University of Balochistan. The objective of the faculty is to dispense the knowledge which enable the students to analyse the society and culture, laws, cognitions and values. It also helpful to provide managerial skill. The discipline of Political Science teaches Leadership, Fundamental Rights, Comparative Political Systems and development Studies.

The development of social science subfields became very quantitative in methodology. The interdisciplinary and cross-disciplinary nature of scientific inquiry into human behavior and social and environmental factors affecting it made many of the natural sciences interested in some aspects of social science methodology.

Significant contributions to the social sciences were made in Medieval Islamic civilization. Alberuni wrote detailed comparative studies on the anthropology of peoples, religions and cultures in the Middle east, Mediterranean and South Asia. Ibn Khuldoon worked in areas of demography, historiography, and the philosophy of history, sociology, and economics. His great work is Muqaddimah in this regard.

 
The Faculty of Social Sciences is promoting the research culture in the University. The Students are getting MPhil/Ph.D. degrees regularly from different disciplines. The faculty is comprised of Five Departments, Three Centres and University law College. The Learned faculty Members and supporting Staff is working hard day and night.
In the end, I am very much thankful to the Worthy Vice Chancellor, Dr. Shafiq-ur-Rehman. University of Balochistan for his constant support to enhance the potential of the faculty of Social Sciences.
