Faculty of Physical and Environmental Sciences

The faculty and staff of the Basic Sciences, UOB, Quetta, invites you to take full advantage of opportunities to create knowledge through scholarship and original research. We encourage students to remain in close contact with faculty mentors whose professional passions are teaching and learning. The curriculum and faculty members of the Basic Sciences prepare students to become successful professionals in a culturally diverse global economy that is becoming increasingly technical and scientifically advanced. Economic competitiveness and environmental issues have inspired an emphasis on science (Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics and Statistics) and the innovations in these fields are changing our lives on a daily basis.
The Faculty of Basic Sciences offers students the latest knowledge, equipment and techniques used in science, technology and mathematics disciplines in a nurturing, open, collaborative and challenging environment. Our faculty and students in Chemistry, Mathematics, Statistics, and Physics are partner across disciplines in research and service projects. This gives our students a glimpse into "real-world" collaboration inherent in science, technology, engineering and mathematics professions.
We are committed in helping the students to achieve their personal and professional goals. Faculty members and professional advisors are dedicated to provide outstanding teaching and advising. They are passionate about mentoring through their curriculum, engaging students in field and laboratory research and nurturing aspiring investigators through the presentation and publication process.
We educate our students to become effective communicators, critical thinkers, and innovators and good citizens. They are prepared to understand the significance of the scientific truth, envision and develop the science and engineering of the future, and be ready to become leaders in a global economy. We aim to create open-minded graduates, more tolerant, deeply committed to diversity, cultural understanding, and civic engagement. We train them to become global citizens of the 21st Century.
The Faculty of Basic Sciences focuses on academic excellence. However, our students will have sufficient time available to utilize the excellent facilities of the University and to take part in a vibrant student life. The graduates of the Faculty of Basic Sciences are creative and innovative thinkers and continuous learners who can compete internationally and who are conscious of their social responsibility.
