At Media Studies we provide on hands training to the students in the field of Newspaper and Magazine journalism. Being the oldest form of journalism we consider it backbone of good journalism, keeping in view the print media as the foundation of all other platforms we work hard to give students the oppertunity to lern all the aspects related to print journalism.
Even today senior journalists consider print media very important for the new comers to get some experience of print journalism before getting job in any other media outlet.
At the Department of Media Studies we have a team of very experienced faculty members who guide the stuents for publishing newspapers and magazines.
Media Times is a campus newspaper published by the students of the Department of Media Studies to enhance their practical skills in the field of print media.
The students are the reporters, photographers, layout designers and editors. Media Times is published to give students on hands training to prepare them for the field of newspaper journaalism.
Once they learn the phases involved in publishing a newspaper they will be easliy adjusted in the field once they pass out from the Department.
Being a campus newspaper it covers the academic activities of the campus. The students held meetings with the newspaper staff on daily basis to discuss the issues and task assigned to them.
Iblagh Magazine is run by students of the Department of Media Studies since its first edition publshed in 1995 since then Iblagh has trained a number of students in the field of magazine journalism. It has provided a platform to the students to learn skills involved in publishing a magazine. Students write articles, features etc. for the magazine. They are the reporters as well as the editors.
The basic purpose of Iblagh is to transfer skills to the students who are willing to choose magazine journalism as a career.
