VISIT OF HONORABLE CHIEF SECRETARY BALOCHISTAN AND INAUGRATION/PROVISION OF NEWLY CONSTRUCTED BUILDING TO SUB CAMPUS KHARAN FOR UTILIZATION AS FEMALE STUDENTS HOSTEL
The honorable Chief Secretary Balochistan Mr. Abdul Aziz Uqaili visited Kharan District on 23rd April 2023 and inaugurated the newly constructed building of Women Development Department at commissioner road Kharan and the building will further be utilized as female student’s hostel of university of Balochistan Sub Campus Kharan.
TREE PLANTATION EVENT HELD IN SUB CAMPUS KHARAN
Tree plantation is crucial for maintaining ecological balance and combating climate change. Trees absorb carbon dioxide and release oxygen, which is essential for life. They help prevent soil erosion, support biodiversity by providing habitats for various species and regulate water cycles. Urban tree planting improves air quality, reduces urban heat and enhances the overall aesthetic and livability of cities. Additionally, trees offer economic benefits by providing resources such as timber, fruits, and medicinal products, making their conservation and expansion vital for sustainable development. Keeping in view the importance of trees a tree plantation ceremony was observed in University of Balochistan Sub Campus Kharan in collaboration with District Forest Office Kharan.
EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES IN SUB CAMPUS KHARAN
Extracurricular activities are important for the students in sub campus Kharan as they contribute to holistic development beyond academics. These activities enhance social skills, teamwork, and leadership qualities, providing a balanced education. They also help in stress relief, fostering creativity, and improving physical health. Engaging in extracurricular can boost campus applications and future career prospects, making students well-rounded individuals. These extracurricular activities include 1. Friendly matches (cricket/football) with other institutions of District, 2. Sports week, 3. Study tours, 4. Participation in debate/drama competitions frequently arranged by district/divisional administration etc
ADMISSION AWARENESS CAMPAIGN
Admission awareness campaign for the University of Balochistan’s sub campus in Kharan is important to ensuring that prospective students and their families are informed about the opportunities available. Such campaign can bridge the gap between the university and the local community, highlighting the courses, facilities, and career prospects the institution offers. By raising awareness, the campaign can attract a diverse pool of applicants, promote higher education in the region, and ultimately contribute to the socio-economic development of Kharan and surrounding areas.
Keeping in view the importance of admission awareness campaign the staff, students of sub campus Kharan and members of civil society, journalists, students of public/private sector educational institutions participated in an admission awareness campaign and due to the campaign a number of students applied for admission for the year 2023 and it was also decided that such campaigns will also be organized in future too.
VISIT OF HIGHER EDUCATION COMISSION COMMITTEE CONSTITUTED FOR ACCREDIATION AND ATTESTAION OF SUB CAMPUS KHARAN
A committee of Higher Education Commission on accreditation and attestation under chairmanship of Prof. Dr. Gul Hassan Baloch along-with members Dr. Jalal Faiz, Dr. Imdad Baloch and Mr. Zubair Ahmed visited University of Balochistan Sub Campus Kharan on 20.01.2023. The committee thoroughly visited the campus buildings, allotted land (500 acres) at Basima road Kharan, interacted with students during academic hours and interviewed the faculty/other staff members as per the guidelines of Higher Education Commission, Islamabad. The required No Objection Certificate (pending since 2017) in favor of University of Balochistan Sub Campus Kharan was issued after visit of said committee
